Ugame is a website that plans to be like a myspace for gamers. A social networking site much like xanga, facebook, and myspace but aimed towards gamers. I see where the market is, there are hundreds of millions of gamers across the world. It’s great to find friends and meet new people over a social network to do whatever- mingle, ask other players for tips or hints, find people to join guilds or clans to play online together, and just to discuss similar intrests in chat. I personally like it and would like to see more gamers sign-up for it. Also be sure to check out E3 for latest news in gaming.
ESA has done a recent study of demographics of gamers. ESA states that 68 percent of households across the US are invloved in playing videogames. This year gaming has increased 3 percent from 2008. “This is the new golden age of entertainment software. Our products are now being enjoyed by over two-thirds of Americans, said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA.” – E3 expo. They go on to state the average gamer is 35 years old. Their studies show that now more thn ever people have began startng to play video games. One amazing stat I found out was that 43% of online gamers are female. I always assumed there were far less than that. I’ve met many girls online and played along side them but maybe I thought – maybe about 5-10% were females. It’s good to see that girls are embracing gaming now as much as guys. Most conflicts when in a relationship with a male gamer is that he plays games more than he spends time with his gf/wife. When they play games together that builds a great connection because they are spending time with each other having fun.

Halo 3 and Team Fortress are two of my favorite games. In these games there is a grenade that stick to players when thrown. This post shows the fun and amazing ability people have to sticky grenade other players. Sticky-grenades get such big hype because for one it isn’t easy to do and two it’s exciting to watch people blow up in Halo. I would say it’s even somewhat humorous because you get a feeling of luck or success when it happens, even though the other player can get frustrated. Finally, on this post is to see if more games could get the same sticky grenade aspect of halo 3 in other firs person shooters like gears of war or team fortress. The video can be seen here.

This computer is identical to my old computer and has the exact same case with a few modifications to it. The set-up is vastly superior to my old gaming PC but it’s definitely a solid PC for gaming and movie watching. The PC looks simply awesome and any gamer would be crazy not to like this beast. This guy in the post mentions it runs around 2 fps playing crisis (a highly gpu demanding game that will suck the life out of your PC). That being said, it’s safe to say this PC can meet and compete with the highest demands one can through at it. Read here for the rest.

The new iPhones to be releases are planned to have a sleave connected to them to charge the battery while it’s in your pocket or layed down without a charger. This new technology is great because one of the biggest complaints of all cell phone user (not just iphone users) is the batter life. The more powerful these cell phones get the more juice it needs to work. Now that were starting to see charging sleaves for the iPhones, this should help ease that battery life problem. You could wear it hanging out of your shirt pocket or leave it by the window at work. I personally think this sleeve is a great idea and I want to see it succeed in the near future. Assassin’s Creed 2 is Ubisofts second try and making a great assassin game. The first one I played and saw it’s potential to be great but it had some bugs and unevenness in the game. This time around the graphics are much better and you get two blades instead of one. The first game also had this repetitiveness that got old after a while which kinda spoiled the game. However, the second one looks much improved from the first and I will enjoy seeing what all they have changed in the game. Link to video.

The future of gaming is always an exciting thing to discuss. One of my favorite things to know is how good are the graphics going to be? How smooth and fast is the game-play? That what I want to know. This article delves into some of the upcoming technologies that will become the future of gaming. The graphics will become so good that it will look like the characters in the game are almost life-like! Developers are even going farther to introduce smell and more realistic touch feeling into game-play. Picture a war game where you can smell the gun-powder and feel the ground shake beneath your feet when a grenade explodes in the game nearby. This technology is advancing ever so rapidly because we the gamers demand games to be better than the last.. It’s what we crave. In closing, I’m excited to see some of the new things software companies are contributing to the gaming society.

G4 channel is a channel that provides content to it’s viewers (mostly gamers). The show provides gaming news and sneak peeks on upcoming titles. Some shows enlighten viewers about hints and secrets in games and can reveal background information about why designers made games the way they are. G4 in 2009 has been cutting back on shows and one of the original hosts, Layla Kayleigh, has left the show among other job cuts. Although everyone is being hit by the economy, G4 continues to be one of my favorite channels and my hopes are that after the economy recovers, G4 will grow stronger than ever.

Fallout 3 was developed by Bestheda Softworks, the same people who made Oblivion (Elder Scrolls 4). Their artwork in the game is beautiful and visually realistic. The gameplay is open play where it lets you explore the world they built and while there is a main quest line, there are many side-quests and events you can do that make this game so much fun. You start as a “vault-dweller” in the nuclear fallout vault 101 and progress from there. Throguhout the game you meet freinds and enemies alike, in ever quest there is a situation where you can choose to be the good-guy or the bad-guy. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you decide to play don’t forget to upddate the game since it’s been patched since it’s release in 2008.

My favorite PC in the world has recently been slain by the treacherous thunder-storm from last weekend. I built the PC back in 2006 with the best parts available at the time. Custom PC case, brand new high-end graphics card, powerful processor, and an award winning monitor. I cleaner and upgraded the PC myself over the last few years. I called my PC “the giant” because of it’s full tower design – which is bigger than most PCs and workstations. I also called it the “work-horse” because of it’s speed and power (needless to say the power it draws from the electric socket). Now my favorite pass-time has been halted.. for now.
